Manchester University have been a client of Inleaf’s previously as each year we provide the University with installation projects and maintenance such as the University’s first living wall, plant displays and annual Christmas decorations, with our partnership continuing to grow. However, this Christmas the décor was bigger and brighter than ever.
The main focal point of this installation was a spectacular 23ft cone structure Christmas tree, displayed at the Booth Street East Entrance. Dominating the entrance and reaching past the second floor balcony this tree stunned many students and visitors.
The 23ft tree was loaded with 1,096 baubles in a rainbow colour scheme, featuring: silver, purple, red, green, orange, pink and blue varying in sizes from 10cm to 15cm. White LED lights were woven throughout the tree, casting a festive glow across the display. At the base, large wrapped presents with coordinating ribbons were arranged at the base to complete the tree and enhance the festive feel.
To complete the display, we installed white LED icicle lights which illuminated the surrounding windows to add a subtle sparkle. These spanned approximately 22m in length, illuminating the entrance. Due to the extreme height of this tree a self drive mobile elevated work platform was required to safely assemble and decorate the tree to its full effect.
In addition to the 23ft tree, the Booth Street East entrance featured a trio of cone trees measuring 8ft, 7ft and 6ft. Each tree was dressed in the same eye-catching rainbow baubles and silver present scheme, creating a cohesive and vibrant theme throughout the area.
Extending from the Booth Street East entrance to the North entrance we transformed the corridor by lining it with 15 artificial slim Christmas trees, each standing 6.5ft. To maintain consistency these trees followed the same theme, being decorated with the signature rainbow colour palette. To ensure durability in this high traffic area, the trees were securely fixed to the mesh furniture, creating a more robust design that could withstand daily footfall without compromising on visual impact. Baubles were also wired onto each branch.
The North entrance mirrored the Booth Street East Display with a trio of trees measuring 8ft, 7ft and 6ft trees. Styled in the same rainbow colour scheme. This ensured a consistent welcoming atmosphere for students and visitors no matter where they entered.
We are proud to continue to work with Manchester University each year not only through biophilic design like the living wall, but by delivering new and exciting Christmas schemes that spark festive cheer for students attending the University from all over the world.
