A real Christmas tree and festive garland installation for prestigious offices at The Shard, London

A real Christmas tree and festive garland installation for prestigious offices at The Shard, London
  • We chose a stunning 9ft real Christmas tree for the prestigious London city offices’ reception area
  • A festive garland with oversized baubles was designed for the uniquely shaped main reception desk
  • The colour scheme of the tree and garland baubles and matching bauble vases complemented the décor
  • We ensured that the garland was firmly fixed to the reception desk to prevent it from falling down

Inleaf were approached by multinational law and lobbying firm, Greenberg Traurig, to install a 9ft real Christmas tree and a leafy festive garland at their stunning offices within The Shard, London’s iconic  office building near London bridge with stunning views across the city.

When working in high-end commercial spaces it is essential that we create the most appropriate tone and style with our living plant installations. The immense reputation of The Shard set the benchmark for this design-led project.

Both the Christmas tree and the festive garland were to be located in the vast reception area with its white walls, warm wood tones and brown leather contemporary seating. For the Christmas baubles on the tree and in the garland, the client asked for a colour pallet of burnt orange and gold to complement the colour scheme and opulence of the décor.

The 9ft real Christmas tree was sourced from a local supplier who cut it just a few days prior to installation. We always have our real Christmas trees cut as close to installation as is feasible to ensure they stay as fresh as possible in warm office conditions for the entirety of the festive period. We personally choose the most appropriate tree ourselves based on the space it is destined for and the brief from the client.

We designed the vibrant oversized bauble-laden garland for the main reception desk as a stunning contrast for maximum impact, along with a matching duo of bauble vases. The client advised us that throughout the previous year’s festive period the garland, installed by another company, kept falling down from the unusually shaped reception desk, so we arrived at site with an array of fixings to prevent the same happening again.

The client was delighted with the impact of the installation on the reception area and the secure fixing of the heavy garland.
