We were recently contacted by The Fragrance Shop HQ to help refresh their interior planting scheme. Over the years, many of the plants had become tired, unhealthy, and overgrown due to a lack of professional maintenance. With multiple floors featuring large inbuilt planters and collaborative spaces, it was clear that a thoughtful and strategic approach was needed to restore both the vibrancy and functionality of their greenery.
The office features a variety of planting areas, each with its own unique requirements and challenges. On the first floor, a stunning 3-meter Ficus nitida tree serves as the dramatic focal point in a large inbuilt planter surrounded by desking. While visually impressive, the surrounding plants were showing signs of neglect and needed care to complement this feature. Several collaboration tables had central planting that had become overgrown, limiting their usability for staff and meetings. Additionally, staff area displays, while still looking reasonably good, required attention to achieve a consistent and polished appearance throughout the space.
Our Approach
Our team at Inleaf carefully assessed each planting area and designed a tailored plan to rejuvenate all displays. Where possible, we worked with the client’s existing troughs, carrying out a complete replant with our own selection of Sansevierias, Palms, and Strelitzias. These plants were paired with a pebble top dressing and a self-watering system to ensure long-term health and reduce future maintenance efforts. Take this bit out or reword
For the client’s free-standing displays, we focused on tidying up the plants, removing dead leaves, and trimming back to restore their visual appeal. In the circular feature troughs, we filled gaps with fresh planting, creating fuller, more balanced displays. This approach not only revitalised the plants themselves but also ensured that each area looked cohesive and inviting.
On the first floor, in a particularly prominent feature trough, we performed a full replanting. Artificial plants were removed, fungus gnat flies were treated, and new, healthy plants were installed. Importantly, the large Ficus nitida centerpiece was retained, preserving the striking focal point while rejuvenating the surrounding planting to complement it. Even displays that were already healthy received a pebble top dressing, giving every planting area a consistent, polished, and finished look.
The Result
A dedicated team of four spent the day bringing all the planting back to life. The transformation was remarkable: overgrown and tired plants were replaced or revitalised, collaboration areas became fully usable, and the overall aesthetic of the office was elevated to a vibrant, professional standard. The consistency of pebble top dressing and new planting across all displays gave the space a cohesive and intentional look.
To ensure these high standards are maintained, we have implemented a regular maintenance schedule. This ensures that every plant display continues to look its best, retaining both its health and visual appeal over time.
At Inleaf, we believe that interior planting should do more than just fill space; it should enhance wellbeing, boost productivity, and create a welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. By combining aesthetic appeal with practical solutions like self-watering systems and ongoing maintenance, we make it easy for businesses like The Fragrance Shop to enjoy the benefits of lush, healthy greenery every day.
